I believe a micro-political leader is a diverse leader, one that identifies diversity and utilizes such differences to facilitate the act of leadership. Together with their staff and other valuable stakeholders, the school leader should utilize the diverse strengths in the school to address professional needs in the form of peer teaching and learning. In return, this should encourage and allow for leaders to emerge among the school staff. The school leader should create a safe environment that allows for opinions to be shared without consequence, an environment in which differing opinions lead to collective core values and common goals for student achievement.

Peer-to-Peer Observations: To provide a setting in which staff were able to observe best practices and excellent strategies for student learning taking place at our school, I had the opportunity to establish peer-to-peer observation rounds. Each staff member had the opportunity to observe others, to be observed, and to give and receive feedback. Throughout this process, I learned that by establishing structured time for observations and feedback the administrative team was able to leverage expertise and influences performance.
